Whoa: Kamala Harris Unburdens Herself of Joe Biden, Rips Him, Jill, and His Team in New Book
She's obviously setting up a 2028 run by trying to pass the buck on her 2024 faceplant.
Words were exchanged, with Burchett alleging later that the protester "bumped stomachs" with him, and Burchett responded by shoving the person, whom the Congressman quipped "had bad breath."
Crockett Says Police Aren’t Here to Protect You, Just File the Paperwork After
Crockett may think this is some clever hot take, but it’s really the distilled essence of Democratic governance: everything reactive, nothing preventive, and the public always left holding the bag.

The president walked right up to them, smiled, and seemingly nodded his head along with their chants, completely unphased, before asking security to see them out.

Who the hell do these people think they are? Anyone can go anywhere for a meal in America. Only progressives and people with too much time on their hands think otherwise.
WHAT'S ON TAP?They are actual weirdos.
Today on Capitol Hill...
Oodles of meetings/hearings set for Wednesday on the Hill. These include:

White House What's Up
Tuesday evening, President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance dined out on the town in D.C., along with Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
.@POTUS, @VP, and members of the cabinet go out for dinner in Washington, D.C. after the historic drop in crime: "It's a safe city and I just want to thank the National Guard... The outcome is really spectacular. We have a capital that's very, very safe right now." pic.twitter.com/kTjecWotGu

Keeping Up With the Cabinet
I haven't been "keeping up with" this section of the Morning Minute due to time constraints, but I'd like to revive it and make a point to highlight at least one Cabinet secretary in each installment. Today: Sec. Health & Human Services - Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Kudos to Kennedy for his leadership of the MAHA Commission and his laudable aim of helping our children get healthy by addressing "nutrition and metabolic health, food quality, cumulative exposures, gut microbiome, precision agriculture, and mental health."

The courts did not slow things down on Tuesday. We had two Supreme Court orders:

We also had a temporary restraining order/preliminary injunction entered by D.C. District Court Judge Jia Cobb over the firing of Fed Governor Lisa Cook. Plus, the criminal charges were dismissed in the Michigan "fake electors" case.
COMING ATTRACTIONSThursday, of course, marks 24 years since 9/11. Per the White House: "Vice President JD Vance and Second Lady Usha Vance will visit Ground Zero in New York City to attend the 24th anniversary commemoration ceremony of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks."
MORNING MUSINGNo one excels at narrative setting better than President Trump. The gravitational pull of what he says and does has driven the national conversation for the last decade. And what better way for him to underscore the success of his efforts to combat crime in the nation's capital than to dine out to demonstrate it?
We're not really used to seeing that, but the president's decision to dine at Joe's Stone Crab Tuesday evening with three of his top Cabinet members definitely made a statement.

And not even the chants of protestors could dampen the effect.
People should feel comfortable dining out — in D.C., or wherever they might be in America. And the idea of restoring a sense of safety to our cities and burgs is one that appeals to most Americans at a visceral level. Which, of course, is why this is a smart issue to push on Trump's part — provided the actions taken comport with the Constitution (which this administration appears to be keenly cognizant of, even while it pushes the comfort envelope of the pearl clutchers).
