    White House What's Up

    President Donald Trump is back from a successful NATO Summit. He has a quiet morning per his formal schedule (understandably), but at 4:00 PM, he's set to participate in "One, Big, Beautiful Event" in the East Room — a bit unclear what that will entail. No doubt, it will be noteworthy. 

    White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt will hold a press briefing at 1:00 PM Eastern.

    Full Court Press...

    BIG day today — we've got Supreme Court opinions being handed down, with 10 cases to go. (Presumably, they won't all be issued today, but another decision day has not yet been announced.) We're also waiting to see what the court does in response to the motion to clarify its Monday order in the D.V.D. v. DHS case. 

    COMING ATTRACTIONS

    We'll be keeping a close eye, of course, on those Supreme Court rulings. Expect there also to be a flurry of activity around the One Big Beautiful Bill and how the Senate aims to tackle it. 

    MORNING MUSING

    The focus of the left and, in particular, the legacy media has, for so long, been on "getting" Trump that they've never actually seemed to "get" Trump. By that, I mean that they still don't seem to understand the way he works, even though it's not terribly complicated: He's a deal maker. He's a competitor. He wants to win, and that, to him, looks like a strong and prosperous America. (That's a credit to him and a benefit to the nation.)

    I spent a fair amount of time, early in Trump's political career, underestimating him and assuming the worst about him. I finally figured out that I didn't have him figured out, and I readjusted my perspective. This doesn't mean I think he can do no wrong or that I agree with everything he does and says. But I've watched him long enough and seen enough to know this: We should let him cook.
