Sean Duffy Schools 'Pothole Pete' Buttigieg With Receipts Amid Battle Over His Time As DOT Secretary

One thing I've really enjoyed seeing play out among many of the cabinet secretaries in the Trump administration is how out-front they are in terms of what they're doing, and how aggressive they are in combating Democrat/media-driven narratives about what's going on.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy probably ranks in the top five in that regard, as we've seen throughout his time in office, where he's overseeing what looks to be a massive overhaul of the department and its priorities, with the top ones including modernizing severely outdated equipment and technology, and recruiting competent air traffic controllers.
Along the way, Duffy has also been consistent in his criticisms of his predecessor, Biden DOT Secretary Pete Buttigieg, amid speculation that Buttigieg is considering a 2028 presidential run.

Buttigieg, as we've noted, has probably had more to say about the DOT since he left office than he did while he was tasked with leading it, something that has only fueled the rumors about his possible future political ambitions.
A recent example is a video he did claiming that President Trump was "going after" air traffic controllers to "distract" from disagreements among congressional Democrats and Republicans regarding extending the enhanced ACA subsidies put in place under the Biden-Harris administration in the early days of the COVID pandemic:

Duffy blasted back at "no-show Pete" during an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, pointing to "pothole Pete's" atrocious record and why no one should trust anything he has to say related to transportation issues (or anything else, for that matter):
"There were 85 near misses in the Potomac before the DCA air crash. Pete did nothing," Duffy said on "Hannity."
"He spent $80 billion on DEI and on climate change. He lowered the standards for training at the FAA. He focused on pronouns at the FAA, but never worked to fix the air traffic control system, didn't work on bringing more air traffic controllers into the system, so what he's trying to do is rewrite his record because he wants to run for president, but the truth is he barely showed up at the DOT."

No Show Pete wants to try and rewrite his abysmal record at DOT.

As we reported on Monday, Duffy also took to X to respond to Buttigieg again criticizing Trump's comments about ATCs, writing, "Give me a break. You were basically AWOL at the DOT. I spend my whole day dealing with your neglect and cleaning up your messes. Sit this one out."
Buttigieg might think his new look - which includes a beard and "man of the people" outfits, complete with flannel shirts - is going to help him mask his record as DOT secretary, but Duffy clearly has other things in mind, and we are so here for it.
