Scott Bessent Shares More Cool Views of the Treasury - Reveals If the Gold Is Still at Fort Knox

As we reported on Tuesday, Scott Bessent hosted Fox News host Jesse Watters at the Treasury Department, where he got to see some interesting things, including a secret vault from 1863.

My colleague Bob Hoge explained that Scott Bessent wouldn't reveal what was presently in the vault, and he wouldn't let Watters inside it. However, Bessent broke down some of the fascinating evolution of the "greenback," and the temporary change that money was going to get for our 250th birthday.

Watters joked about how leftists were going to lose it when they found out that President Donald Trump would be signing the money for our birthday, and that the money would be available in the fall.

Bessent also demolished Communism in the process, explaining that Communists "make [things] more affordable by making people worse off." He explained that things were very cheap in Cuba and Venezuela because no one had any money. Equality under Communism means everyone is equally poor. Bessent said he thought Americans would push back against what the Communists were trying to sell.

Then, Sec. Scott Bessent gave Watters a tour of the Treasury, showing him the "cash room," which used to operate like a bank.

Bessent also showed him some of our currency over the years, and revealed whether or not the gold was still in Fort Knox. The Treasury Secretary said while he hadn't visited Fort Knox himself, "people on my staff have," but the Treasurer Brendan Beach had been. Bessent said all the gold was present and accounted for. "The U.S. has the largest pile of gold in the world," Bessent asserted. "Over a $1 trillion, at current market value."

The secretary also explained how wages and non-government jobs had gone up since the border was secured under President Trump. Real wage growth doesn't come from government jobs; it comes from increasing the jobs in the private sector, Bessent stated. He believed we were on the cusp of a "big productivity boom."

Bessent explained how we were now making sure that the oil sales were going back to benefit the people of Venezuela. We benefit by being the trading partner (instead of China) and now being more secure in our own hemisphere. If you didn't already know it was good, you would know it by how the radical leftist streamer Hasan Piker freaked out over this. He didn't give a darn about how the people of Venezuela and Iran have been killed and harmed by their own oppressive leftist and/or autocratic leaders.

Cry more, leftists.
