Gross Media Attempt to Undercut Platner's Accuser Backfires Spectacularly

The Graham Platner episode has confirmed a lot of ugly things we knew about the Democratic Party.

They'll back anyone, no matter what comes out against them — even if it involves a Nazi tattoo and alleged abuse against a Republican woman — if they think they can win.

They forced Platner out in the wake of a rape allegation by Jenny Racicot, but the truth is they had plenty before that, and they just tried to buffalo the public about what a changed man he was, even knowing there were things out there that were likely to reveal otherwise.

One media reaction to the rape allegation had people's eyebrows going up. The take got rightly ratioed to the moon. Drop Site's Ryan Grim said that he had authenticated text messages showing Racicot texted Platner that she "needed her glute massaged." Grim claims Politico's omission of the text from its reporting was a "shocking breach of journalistic ethics."

This is a vile post, although it's cast as a comment on "journalistic ethics."

Platner said he was coming over, and she told him no, she didn't want him to do so. Then he came over, entered her house allegedly without permission, and raped her. Despite her telling him "no" repeatedly.

Who cares what she said to him at any point once she said "no"? No means no, and nothing before that is relevant, just like what she wore that night or what she might have said to him in the past is irrelevant. Suggesting that has some relevance is truly gross.

Here's How Graham Platner's Potential Last Senate Campaign Hurrah Could Be Schumer's Undoing

Grim claimed they weren't trying to undercut the alleged victim, but I don't think too many people were buying that, as Grim and Drop Site were slammed big time over this effort. Most of the responses found this disgusting.

I think former senator Kyrsten Sinema perhaps skewered this hot take best.

"Was she also wearing a short skirt?" she asked.

Exactly right. The media failed in this case on so many levels when they should have been putting Platner on the grill far more than they did. But this is a truly gross way to close out the ugly Platner episode.
