Watch: Tim Walz Scrambles to Defend Himself on MN Chaos With Some Particularly Clueless Remarks

redstate.com

Minnesota is a complete mess.

Between the massive fraud that has gone on for years, which some estimate could involve as much as $9 billion, and the chaos Democrats have ginned up against ICE, they're in a lot of trouble.

Gov. Tim Walz (D) should be seeking all the help he can from the federal government. Instead, he has been inciting against the federal government, even talking about being at "war" with them about a week ago.

He's been egging people on against federal agents, and the violence has gotten even worse against ICE.

He received a significant warning from Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche that he would be held responsible for inciting actions against federal agents.

So it sounds like Walz is now trying to scramble to justify himself.

But even for Tim, his remarks in a video he posted to X on Thursday seemed particularly clueless.

"Minnesotans believe in the rule of law. And Minnesotans believe in the dignity of all people. We're a place where there's room for everybody, no matter who you are or who you love or where you came from. A place where we feed our kids. We take care of our neighbors. And we look out for those in the shadows of life.

We're an island of decency in a country being driven towards cruelty. We will remain an island of decency, of justice, of community, of peace.

And tonight, I come before you simply to ask: don't let anyone take that away from us. Thank you. Protect each other. And may God bless the people of Minnesota.

Except this isn't true. If it were true, you wouldn't have let fraudsters steal billions from us. If it were true, you would support federal law enforcement instead of trying to stop them and stoking action against them. It's an island of fraud and chaos, cut off from most of the sanity of the Midwest. If he believed in the dignity of their own people, he would protect them. If they were "feeding their kids," they wouldn't have had the huge "Feeding Our Future" fraud.

All he needs to do is say to the agitators: Stop. But notice he didn't. Indeed, he seems to think they are such an "island' that they can decide whether they want to comply with federal law. It doesn't work that way; you can't deny federal law.

His actions have made everything worse, and the only good thing about him being the governor of Minnesota is that he isn't the Vice President of the United States. Thank God β€” and smart voters β€” for that. But this is who the Democratic power brokers would have put in the seat.

Tim was inundated with people, variously excoriating him or telling him to resign. I don't think he was convincing them.

He's trying to save himself, but he's so inept, and it's not working.
