Attorney General Pam Bondi announced in a press conference on Friday the arrest of George Isbell Jr., who was charged in a criminal complaint with "mailing threatening communications" to commentator Benny Johnson.

Bondi thanked the people who had worked on the case and said Isbell had been arrested on October 7.
"Benny is a well-known media personality, carrying a message very similar to Charlie [Kirk's]. Grounded largely in faith and love of country. Just days after Charlie's assassination, Benny received a letter at his home where he and Kate are raising their beautiful, beautiful young family," Bondi said. "The author of this letter made it very clear that he hated Benny because of his views, and he wanted Benny dead."
According to the complaint, Isbell allegedly mailed a letter from San Diego, saying "You all need to be exterminated. Don't worry - won't be me. I'm not giving up my freedoms for worm s**t like you."

The DOJ explained:
"In the letter, he referenced one of the victim’s friends, Mr. Charlie Kirk, a conservative political activist who had recently been killed during a public engagement on a college campus. After writing that he hoped that the American flag ‘strangles the life out of you,’ the letter went on to state: ‘Maybe someone will blow your head off!!! We can hope! Planning any public engagements? Love to see your head explode and your blood stain the concrete red. What a sight!’" the Justice Department added.

Bondi condemned what she called the "horrific cycle of political violence" that was going on, and said that if people were thinking of threatening others, the DOJ was going to catch them.
Johnson thanked Bondi and law enforcement for their action. He condemned political violence, including the assassination of Kirk and the attempted assassination of President Donald Trump.
An individual has been arrested for threatening to kill my wife, my four children, and me. He sent a letter to my home saying he hated our views and wanted us dead.
He is being charged federally and faces prison time.

He said violence was being "mainstreamed" by people on the left, "This has to stop. This cycle must end."
Johnson said left-wing violence is "exploding."
Let me be absolutely clear: We will not be silenced. We will not back down. We will not break. You lit a fire that cannot be put out. Charlie Kirk taught us to go on offense. That is exactly what we will do. We will work harder, speak louder, and grow stronger. We will continue to move TPUSA’s mission forward. For Charlie.

We saw in the wake of Kirk's killing all kinds of horrible comments and actions from people on the left. We're seeing continuing violence against ICE. Yet we still see people on the left whipping up the rhetoric.

Johnson said everyone should be able to unify behind the concept that "this is a country where families should be able to raise their children safely, where people can have peaceful disagreements, and we can all live together under one American flag."
