Ricky Gervais Has the Perfect Reply to Actress' Remarks About ICE and Gaza at Emmys

They had the Emmys last night. So you know that means it's almost axiomatic that someone says something dumb and political.

This year's winner of the "I should have kept my mouth shut" award was HBO actress Hannah Einbinder. She won Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role on "Hacks."

Instead of showing some class and just thanking people, she demonstrated that she was indeed a "hack" when she decided to use the occasion to add a leftist rant at the end of her remarks.

Warning for graphic language:

“Go Birds, f—k ICE and free Palestine!”  she shouted.

Do we really need another Hollywood person to try to prove their leftist bona fides by showing they embrace the current "thing?"

She later gave this explanation for her actions.

“I feel like it is my obligation as a Jewish person to distinguish Jews from the State of Israel, because our religion and our culture is such an important and long standing institution that is really separate to this sort of ethno-nationalist state,” she said, according to The Wrap.

Funny - she didn't feel it was her duty to talk about the hostages still being held in Gaza by Hamas. She didn't feel the need to talk about the people harmed or killed by illegal aliens. Instead, she attacked ICE, which enforces the law and helps to protect us.

In a true moment of irony, when she spoke more about her reasoning after the event, the Quds Network blurred out her upper chest and shoulders.

She wants to "Free Palestine" - even as they censor her. And there is no Palestine. In another ironic twist, in doing so, Quds also blocked what appeared to be a "red hand" pin that she was wearing in support. Some in Hollywood have worn such a pin in support of a ceasefire in Gaza. But the red hand has also been associated with the lynching of Jews in Ramallah - I wonder if she knows that. She also appeared to have difficulty enunciating what she was trying to say, which makes sense since she doesn't know what she's talking about.

But in the wake of Einbinder's actions, Ricky Gervais had the perfect comment. He laughed and said, "They're still not listening," while posting the famous comment he made at the 2020 Golden Globes about such displays at award shows.

“If you do win an award tonight, don’t use it as a platform to make a political speech. You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything,” Gervais wrote in 2020. “You know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg."

Exactly.
