As we reported, the Trump administration was bringing Kilmar Abrego Garcia back to the country to face new charges for involvement in transporting illegal aliens.

Sen. Chris Van Hollen posted a statement on X about him being brought back, but taking a victory lap, acting as if this was done because of the Democrats' tantrums. Van Hollen's statement also left out the new charges.

Van Hollen also went on CNN with Anderson Cooper and made an incredible statement, especially considering the charges that had been filed. Democrats keep digging that hole deeper. Van Hollen said that President Donald Trump should "apologize" to Abrego Garcia.

Van Hollen said it's the "Trump administration and all his cronies who should apologize for putting us through this unnecessary situation and to Abrego Garcia for putting him and his family." "All I have said from the beginning," Van Hollen claimed, "is that the Trump administration should respect the rule of law and the constitution of the United States."

Of course, Van Hollen did far more than he said to defend Abrego Garcia. He called Abrego Garcia a "constituent" and said this was an example of a "bully picking on the most vulnerable," and he said he was going to do all he could to bring him "home."

He even traveled to El Salvador to see him, with margaritas on the table.

So yeah, no, the Democrats can't wiggle out of what they did here, and they can't pretend they didn't embrace this person, now that more disturbing things are coming out. They hit in the 20s in approval, maybe they're trying to go even lower when they do things like this, and like Mayor Karen Bass did in Los Angeles, saying she would "stand" for ICE trying to enforce the law in her city.

Maybe the Democrats are trying for single-digit approval numbers at this point. They might make it with comments like this. It's unbelievable that Van Hollen is still going.

How about the Democrats apologize for how much this attitude has hurt Americans and this country? How about they apologize for all the illegal aliens that Joe Biden let in?
