The Degenerate Socialists of America

The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) came into being in the early 1980s, when the Democratic Socialist Organizing Committee and New American Movement joined forces “to popularize the vision of an ecumenical, multi-tendency socialist organization.”

Sadly, the DSA has succeeded in popularizing socialism in the United States. Among young Americans and Democratic voters, support for socialism is surging.
Specifically, most young voters and nearly seven in 10 Democrats support so-called democratic socialism.
Democratic socialism sounds better than straight socialism because it appears to blend the will of the people with a socialist economic system, like the myth of Scandinavian socialism.
Don’t fall for the semantics sleight of hand. Democratic socialism, like all forms of Marxism, is tyrannical because it puts the state above all else.
On July 14, the DSA released its official policy platform, the Workers Deserve More program.
According to the DSA’s “perspective,” “The political and economic system under which we live is built on private ownership and profit at all costs.”
The DSA claims the Republicans are embracing “right-wing authoritarianism” while the “Democratic Party is asleep at the wheel.”
Thus, the DSA is “fighting to transform society: to win the battle for democracy, draft a new constitution, and create a democratic socialist republic.”
The DSA’s societal transformation has three pillars: “thriving working class communities,” “working-class foreign policy,” and “working-class democracy.”

Here is a brief breakdown of the domestic policies the DSA advocates to achieve its U.S. socialist utopia.
To create “thriving working class communities,” the DSA wants to abolish “the police and prison system” and enact a nanny state that would put millions on the dole. The list of “free stuff” includes healthcare, childcare, pre-K, college, paid family leave, housing, and a universal basic income.
Meanwhile, the Green New Deal (GND) will “transition to a green future” via a “massive investment in sustainable, publicly owned energy and transit infrastructure.” Incredibly, the GND will single-handedly “reclaim and repair our earth's resources for all” while terminating the “use of fossil fuels.”
It does not take a genius to realize that the “free stuff” is never free. There is no free lunch. One also need not be a savant to understand that abolishing the police and prisons will likely lead to more crime.
Moreover, anyone with an IQ more than 50 can fathom that the U.S. government cannot afford to expand the social welfare state considering that the national debt is nearly $40 trillion and the federal government is trapped in a deficit-spending spiral.
If this enormous expansion of government redistribution programs were to take place, it would foster runaway inflation. It would severely skew market forces by misallocating precious resources and capital, creating shortages and confusing price signals. Access to reliable energy would be a privilege.

In one fell socialist swoop, the DSA’s free stuff/green agenda would permanently destroy the American dream for the working class.
Of course, the DSA agenda is basically a no-go under the Constitution, which is why the DSA wants to rewrite America’s governing charter.

In order to form a “working-class democracy,” the DSA wants to abolish the Senate and the Electoral College, “replace the President and Supreme Court with an executive and judiciary chosen by and subordinate to Congress,” make Washington, D.C. a state, and develop “public ownership of the largest corporations and essential industries to ensure democratic control and accountability to the people.”
They also demand unconstitutional “aggressive wealth taxes on the richest individuals and corporations to spend on public goods and infrastructure.”
Make no mistake, these changes are not intended to preserve individual liberty, protect property rights, or enhance economic mobility. They are solely intended to centralize power.
If there is one big lesson Americans should take from the DSA’s Workers Deserve More program, it is that the DSA could not care less about hardworking Americans.

Their policies, by design, are anathema to the working class. All Marxist, socialist, and communist regimes claim they are for the working people. This is a farce. From the Soviet Union to Cuba to China to North Korea, the working people have been used and abused as political pawns.
Please, my fellow American workers, don’t fall for the socialist snake oil peddled by the degenerate DSA.
