The Latest Update on Dennis Prager

There's an update on our Salem colleague Dennis Prager, and while details are scant, I reckon our readers would want to know what's out there even if it is still unconfirmed reporting at this hour. According to a new report released on Friday. ChurchLeaders editor Jesse T. Jackson wrote:

Well-known conservative radio host Dennis Prager, 77, founder of the conservative educational media platform PragerU, is reportedly currently hospitalized with pneumonia and blood clots in his lungs.
...
ChurchLeaders was informed of Prager’s most recent hospitalization through a credible source who was granted anonymity to discuss the matter. According to the source, who is not a medical professional, the radio host was admitted to the hospital earlier this week, where doctors discovered blood clots in his lungs and diagnosed him with pneumonia. To date, neither Prager nor his representatives have confirmed or denied the report.
In Novmber 2024, RedState Managing Editor Jennifer Van Laar shared our first missive on Dennis' health journey, in the days following a fall at his home that left the PragerU founder and radio industry legend seriously injured and hospitalized.

Then as Paula Bolyard at our sister site PJ Media wrote in Mar. 2025, Prager's son David filled in some details on his father's injury and ongoing recovery:
David said his father suffered an "incomplete" spinal cord injury when he fell from a ladder on Nov. 12, which means he could potentially regain neural functioning. "He's recuperating very well. The last month has been a really, really great moving in the right direction," he said. "Unfortunately, he's still paralyzed below the neck, but he's speaking beautifully. He's eating now, drinking now. That was stuff that wasn't happening only about a month ago.

Even then, unsurprisingly, David said his dad was "clamoring" to get back behind the mic right away. Bolyard continued:
He said his father is "clamoring" to get back on the air. "He gives assurances, without giving a specific date, that he'll be back on at some point in the spring, and based on all that I've seen and all that anybody who's visited him has seen, he's really the same old Dennis."
But unfortunately, Prager suffered a setback in 2025, just as word was spreading that he could return to the airwaves, as Bolyard wrote in May '25:
Unfortunately, his return to radio has been delayed. Salem Media Group said in a press release today that Prager "will be delayed in his return to the airwaves, due to a setback in his recovery from a spinal cord injury."
...
"We will continue to keep watching the recovery for Dennis and pray for his improvement," Salem added.
Bolyard added that Prager and his son, to the joy of fans, released an audio message in March 2025:
Dennis speaks! He shares an encouraging message to his fans and supporters. "I intend to go back on radio," Dennis Prager.#dennisprager #dennispragershow #prageru pic.twitter.com/lyWc0gkzzJ

And indeed, Dennis Prager has since appeared on podcasts, including a sit-down in late Feb. 2026 with Glenn Beck. Here's a clip:

Most recently, Prager was on a podcast hosted by PragerU CEO Marissa Streit. On the May 18 episode, he talked about California's elections in 2026:
California can change, but not until people admit how bad things have gotten. @DennisPrager says voters are fed up with the homeless encampments, the taxes, the fires, and the overall collapse of what used to make California feel free. California can change, but not until people admit how bad things have gotten. @DennisPrager says voters are fed up with the homeless encampments, the taxes, the fires, and the overall collapse of what used to make California feel free. The question now is whether they’re ready to demand real solutions and hold leaders accountable.

The most recent one, encouragingly, was released just days before Memorial Day. Here's a clip from the May 22 episode honoring the fallen (and the full podcast can be heard/seen at the link in the post):
Imagine the entire country coming to a halt for one minute on Memorial Day. @DennisPrager and I suggest a national ritual of standing still for one minute. Watch here 👉 https://t.co/o5XScqTfNe pic.twitter.com/4zNFOOMAGC
