Senator Tuberville Delivers Powerful Senate Speech on Islamic Extremism—But Misses the Core Truth: It's Not 'Radical,' It's Islam (Video)

Senator Tuberville’s powerful Senate speech rightly condemns the threat of Islamic extremism but falls short of the hard truth: it’s not a “radical” fringe, but Islam’s core teachings that inspire global jihad and endanger American values.
In a fiery and much-needed address on the Senate floor, Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville unleashed a blistering critique of what he termed “radical Islamic extremism” and the insidious creep of Sharia (Islamic law) into American society.
His speech, delivered with the passion of a coach rallying his team before the big game, was a masterclass in calling out the threats facing our nation—from unchecked immigration to the open sympathy for terrorists among some elected officials.
Tuberville’s words were spot-on in highlighting the failures of two decades of policy, the ongoing attacks on American soil, and the hypocrisy of the left in ignoring atrocities committed in the name of Islam.
It was a great speech, one that should resonate with every freedom-loving American tired of political correctness diluting the fight against evil. But here’s the hard truth that even Senator Tuberville, like so many politicians before him, stopped short of fully embracing:
It’s not “radical” Islam that’s the problem—it’s Islam itself. For too long, we’ve danced around this reality, pretending that the violence, the hatred, and the calls for domination are the work of a fringe “hijacking” the faith. Nonsense.
As Islamic terrorists themselves make crystal clear, their motivations stem directly from the religion’s core teachings, texts, and history. Islam isn’t being perverted by extremists; it inspires them.
This is what sets Islam apart from other religions, and it’s high time we stop burying our heads in the sand and speak the unvarnished truth. Tuberville opened strong, invoking the horrors of September 11, 2001, when nearly 3,000 innocent Americans were slaughtered by Islamic terrorists acting on their faith’s imperatives.
“Those of us who lived through that day remember exactly where we were when those planes hit the buildings,” he said. “That day changed this country forever. We were smacked in the face with the reality that there are people who are so hell-bent on destroying America that they will kill themselves just to try to harm us.”
Absolutely correct—and those people weren’t “radicals” twisting a peaceful religion; they were devout Muslims following the example of their prophet and the Quran’s commands to wage jihad against unbelievers.
The senator didn’t hold back in recounting the litany of attacks on U.S. soil since 9/11, each one inspired not by some aberrant “extremism,” but by mainstream Islamic doctrine. From the 2009 Fort Hood shooting, where an Army psychiatrist radicalized by Islamic teachings killed 13, to the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing by brothers driven by their faith, to the 2016 Orlando nightclub massacre, where the shooter pledged allegiance to ISIS—Tuberville laid it out plainly: “
These attacks, they weren’t just against people, they were an all-out assault on Western culture, freedom, and the values that we hold dear to our heart.”
Spot on, Senator. But let’s call it what it is: These aren’t anomalies; they’re the logical outgrowth of a religion that explicitly calls for violence against non-Muslims, as outlined in the Quran and Hadiths.
Tuberville hammered the Biden administration’s open-border policies, noting that thousands on the terror watch list have poured in, bringing “anti-American rhetoric and ideology” with them. He’s correct that we’re seeing this poison in cities like Minneapolis, Dearborn, Portland, Chicago, and New York, where Islamic influence erodes American values.
He even called out the “far-left socialist” candidate, Zohran Mamdani, for NYC mayor sympathizing with Hamas, and Congresswomen Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib for refusing to condemn the October 7, 2023, atrocities in Israel, where over 1,200 innocents—including 40 Americans—were butchered by the “Islamic Resistance Movement.”
“These two members were elected to represent American citizens, and they are sympathizing with Islamic terrorists instead,” Tuberville thundered. “It’s almost hard to believe, but it’s true, and they don’t hide it.”
This is where Tuberville’s speech shines brightest: Exposing how Islamic ideology has infiltrated positions of power. But again, it’s not “radical”—it’s Islam. The Quran openly calls for violence against non-Muslims, and Sharia demands the subjugation of women, the persecution of Christians and Jews, and the destruction of Western freedoms.
Tuberville rightly pointed to Europe’s downfall: The UK, once a bastion against tyranny, now overrun by mass migration, with “openly anti-Semitic pro-Hamas riots” and a pro-terrorist Home Secretary. “If we aren’t careful, the United States will look like Europe in 10 years or less,” he warned. Truer words were never spoken.
The senator’s takedown of leftist hypocrisy was equally devastating. He blasted Democrats for championing the #MeToo movement while ignoring the rampant abuse of women under Sharia law—rape, child marriage as young as six, pedophilia, and total subjugation. “
In Muslim countries that follow Sharia, it is considered normal for women to be raped, trafficked, and forced to marry as young as the age of six,” Tuberville said. “Women are lucky if they are allowed to drive.” And on the genocide of Christians in Nigeria? “More than 62,000 Christians have been slaughtered since 2000 by radical Islamic terrorists… and just this year alone, more than 7,000 Nigerian Christians have been murdered because of their faith alone.”
Silence from the left, of course, because it doesn’t fit their narrative. Tuberville’s praise for religious freedom was heartfelt: “If you want to come here legally, practice a peaceful version of Islam, and blend into our society by adopting the treasured American values… you are welcome.”
But he drew the line at Sharia: “If you believe that Sharia law supersedes American law, you should be deported immediately.” Commending Texas for banning Sharia, he urged other states to follow. “There is only room for one law in this country, and that’s the Constitution of the United States of America.”
This speech was a triumph—a bold, unapologetic defense of America against an existential threat. Yet, after all these years, from 9/11 to today, we must finally speak the full truth: The problem isn’t a “radical” fringe; it’s Islam’s foundational teachings that fuel this global jihad. Terrorists aren’t misinterpreting their religion—they’re obeying it. As evidenced worldwide, from mass murder plots to the explicit religious motivations cited by perpetrators, Islam provides the blueprint for this violence. Other religions don’t inspire such widespread terror because they lack these mandates.
Senator Tuberville, your speech was great, but let’s drop the “radical” qualifier. It’s Islam—and acknowledging that is the first step to saving our nation. We can’t afford to tiptoe anymore.
As Tuberville concluded: “The time for being politically correct is over… Now is the time to act, because if we don’t, we will lose this country as we know it.” Amen to that. America must wake up, deport the threats, ban Sharia nationwide, and defend our Constitution without apology.
The truth isn’t hateful—it’s our only defense.
