3 hikers confirmed dead after going missing on Mt. Baldy
A recovery effort is underway for three hikers who were reported missing on snowy Mt. Baldy Monday morning and are now dead.
An injured hiker — who was believed to be with two other hikers — was reported to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities were dispatched to the treacherous mountain, known for being the highest peak in the San Gabriel Mountains with steep, icy and quickly shifting weather conditions.
A helicopter from the Los Angeles County Fire Department is assisting in the search around the popular ski resort, according to KTLA.

The mountain is reported to have 15 inches of snow, having received a fresh coat of about 6 inches on Friday.
