Police on Long Island continue to search the waters near Shinnecock Bay for a pair of kayakers who disappeared Saturday evening after sending a selfie to a friend, police said.

Southampton police said Shane Garcia, 27, and his 25-year-old pal, Aaron Montemarano, set out on a lime-green two-man ocean kayak near the Ponquogue Bridge and never returned, News12 reported.

“Mr. Garcia sent a picture to his girlfriend of himself and his friend Aaron Montemarano while kayaking in Shinnecock Bay near Ponquogue Bridge,” police said in a press release. “A search of Shinnecock Bay and the surrounding area yielded negative results.”

“Mr. Montemarano is believed to have been in the company of Mr. Garcia at the time he went missing.”

Cops said Garcia’s girlfriend reported the men missing when they didn’t return home Saturday night.

Police told The Post Sunday that the two were still missing and the search continued.
