ICE protests in Eugene have stretched across several months even becoming heated in recent weeks, and on Tuesday, September 23, Eugene protestors expect extra backing from Portland protestors coming to beef up numbers at the Federal Building.

Flyers circulating online urge Portland citizens to join in solidarity with Eugene.

The flyer asks Portlanders to make travel plans to attend the weekly protest beginning at 2 p.m. Tuesday through 2 a.m. Wednesday morning.

In August, interactions between protestors and federal officials escalated during a weekly protest downtown where protestors were visibly seen on video being pushed by Department of Homeland Security officers at the federal building.

Demonstrators have told us they're protesting after learning people have gone in for immigration check-ins and are being arrested ahead of relocation and silent deportations.

We reached out to the Eugene Police Department to see if they planned any added patrols during the protest, but EPD said they are aware of it but cannot comment on the event.
