Could there be a worse choice for mayor even than Zohran Mamdani? Possibly. Consider Riverview, Missouri Mayor Mike Cornell Jr.

St. Louis County Prosecutors charged the 39-year-old mayor with four counts of second-degree statutory sodomy, three counts of first-degree sodomy or attempted sodomy, one count of first-degree harassment and one count of possession of child pornography.

St. Louis County Police said Thursday there were four victims, including two minors under the age of 17…

According to the St. Louis County Police’s probable cause statement, Cornell committed forcible sex acts on at least three victims, including a minor.

Police suspect there are additional victims. But don’t be too hard on Cornell; he’s the victim here — of racism.

In less than a week in December, Cornell made multiple claims of acts of hate against Riverview and himself on social media, in a letter and a press conference.

Cornell is black, as is 73% of the population that elected him.

Cornell says the KKK is active in his town. However,

First Alert 4 has spoken to over 30 people or groups about Riverview and has found no proof of KKK or any other organized hate-group activity in the community. Instead, residents and former Riverview leaders have told First Alert 4 their concerns about Cornell’s behavior…

It seems likely that these concerns will lead to imprisonment. His dubious claims of racism have already earned him a spot on the Hate Hoax List.
