Vice President JD Vance said Monday that Iran has agreed to allow International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors back into the country.

The announcement was made during talks in Switzerland, where Vance said the U.S. and Iran have had challenged but productive discussions, CNBC reported

"The Iranians have agreed to invite IAEA inspectors back into their country," Vance said. "That is a major milestone for the American people. ... The talks continued, and we made great progress."

The agreement to allow nuclear inspectors is a first step toward permanently dismantling Iran's nuclear weapons program, Vance said.
