Israelis, Palestinians doubtful of permanent peace: Poll

As President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu meet yet again to discuss a resolution to the Israel-Gaza War, majorities in both Israel and Palestine remain doubtful about the prospects of a permanent peace.
Just 21% of Israelis expressed the belief that they would achieve a permanent peace with the Palestinians, according to a recent Gallup survey. A further 23% in the West Bank and East Jerusalem said the same.
The survey did not question Gazans due to the ongoing bombardment of the region.
Notably, support for a two-state solution remains below majority status. Just 33% of Palestinians support a two-state solution, with 55% opposing such a move. In Israel, support for a two-state solution stands at 27%, with 63% opposing it.
As of press time, Netanyahu had arrived at the White House to meet with Trump.
