Blackburn demands Judge Boasberg testify before Senate panel

Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., this weekend demanded that U.S. District Judge James Boasberg testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee over his role in the surveillance of Republican senators.

An Obama-appointed activist judge, James Boasberg, ordered [Verizon] not to tell me about Jack Smith’s subpoena for my phone records, falsely claiming I might destroy so-called evidence," Blackburn posted on X. "He must answer before the Senate Judiciary Committee for this blatant abuse of power."

Accompanying her post was an order from Boasberg directing Verizon to remain silent as to a subpoena for phone records.

Revelations that the FBI surveilled the phone records of Republican senators as part of operation "Arctic Frost", a precursor to special counsel Jack Smith's investigation have prompted outrage from lawmakers.

Some have even called for Boasberg to face impeachment over his signing of the order.
