Iran is holding a series of funeral processions, memorials and funeral-related events over roughly the next week for Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and several family members killed in the country's war with the United States.
Khamenei lay in state in a vast hall in Tehran on Friday as clerics, officials, foreign dignitaries and other mourners paid their respects, according to Reuters.
Khamenei ruled for 37 years before he was killed in February by the first airstrike of the war.
Millions are expected to attend the events through July 9, the reported day of the funeral.
China and India are among the countries sending representatives, according to CNN.
