Trump backs Vance as VP takes heat over Iran negotiations

President Donald Trump on Monday expressed support for Vice President JD Vance as he faced criticism over the Iran deal negotiations, especially from pro-Israel figures.
Vance has been the point man for clinching an agreement to end the Iran war in recent weeks, appearing on numerous programs to sell the deal. He made public remarks on the progress of negotiations in Switzerland this week.
"I thought JD Vance this morning was fantastic," Trump said. "I watched his news conference in Switzerland. He's a very smart guy, did a great job."
Trump's remarks come as Vance takes flak on social media from pro-Israel commentators over concerns the deal is too lenient to Iran and designed to extricate the U.S. from the Middle East.
