Trump Media hopes to complete merger with fusion company this year

The Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) on Wednesday said it hoped to complete a merger with a fusion power company by the end of 2026.
TMTG announced the merger with TAE Technologies in late 2025 in a $6 billion deal that sought to create one of the world's first publicly traded fusion companies. At present, the U.S. has no commercial fusion power plants. The companies began the search for a site to build their planned plant earlier this year.
Both firms stated on Wednesday that they "remain focused" on completing the merger "with the goal of closing the transaction in the fourth quarter of 2026 or sooner."
TMTG has also explored spinning off Truth Social, its flagship product, into a separate company. Since launching the social media app, TMTG has expanded into a wide range of enterprises, including cryptocurrency, AI, and nuclear power.
