Vice President J.D. Vance said he isn't sure if Tesla CEO and former Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) head Elon Musk would be able to be in President Donald Trump's good graces following the feud earlier this week.

“I’m always going to be loyal to the president, and I hope that eventually Elon comes back into the fold,” Vance said during an interview with podcast host Theo Von released Saturday.

Vance added that it may not be possible though, because Musk had gone "so nuclear."

Earlier this week, Trump and Musk got into a back and forth feud that started with Musk not being pleased with Trump's "big beautiful bill."

Trump told NBC News that he has no plans to speak with Musk and is "busy doing other things."

Trump accused Musk of being “disrespectful to the office of the President.”

Vance told Von that he believed it was a mistake for Musk to get into this public dispute with Trump.

“If he and the president are in some blood feud, most importantly, it’s going to be bad for the country, but I don’t think it’s going to be good for Elon either,” Vance said, referencing Musk.
