Trump Criticizes Abundance of Federal Holidays: ‘It is Costing Our Country Billions’

Not everyone thinks federal holidays are a good thing. And President Donald Trump is one of them.
The president spent time on Juneteenth, the newest federal holiday, remarking how much federal holidays cost the U.S., The Hill reported.
“Too many non-working holidays in America. It is costing our Country $BILLIONS OF DOLLARS to keep all of these businesses closed,” Trump posted on social media. “The workers don’t want it either! Soon we’ll end up having a holiday for every once working day of the year.”
“It must change if we are going to, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” he added.
Federal holidays are paid days off for government employees.
Juneteenth was declared a federal holiday in 2021 by President Joe Biden. The day commemorates the freedom of enslaved Blacks.
Trump did not go to any Juneteenth events, a stark contrast from Biden, who, while in office, hosted a concert on the South Lawn with Black performers.
Biden commemorated the day this year by attending an event in Galveston, Texas.
