Former first lady Michelle Obama set the record straight regarding divorce rumors with her and former President Barack Obama.

Obama noted others can’t know what they are doing “every minute of the day,” per The Hill. She spoke with Rachel Martin on NPR’s “Wild Card.”

“Even in this phase in our lives, when Barack and I say something, right or wrong, it does get covered,” she said.

“The fact that people don’t see me going out on a date with my husband sparks rumors of the end of our marriage,” Obama said of tabloid reports. The couple got married in 1992.

“It’s the apocalypse,” Martin said.

“It’s the apocalypse,” Obama replied.

“So we don’t Instagram every minute of our lives — we are 60,” Obama, 61, said. “You just are not going to know what we’re doing every minute of the day, you know?”

“And yes, I guess we’re famous, but we’re 60,” Obama repeated. “We don’t take selfies.”

Rumors of discord between the two ramped up when Michelle Obama did not attend President Donald Trump’s inauguration in January of this year.
