Barron Trump, the youngest son of President Donald Trump and only child of First Lady Melania Trump, has grown up in the spotlight since his father first took office in 2016 when he was only 10 years old, but new sources are shedding light on who Barron Trump is becoming as he finishes up his first year at New York University.

According to NewsNation‘s Paula Froelich, sources have said Barron Trump isn’t interested in politics like his father and older siblings, opting instead to stay close to his girlfriend and close friends on campus.

“Barron has a really nice girlfriend and hangs out with her a lot. He does have friends he just (unlike his father Donald Trump) screws the limelight,” a source told Froelich.

The source added that Barron is much like his mother Melania, “he keeps his head down and gets on with it. He is not trying to be BMOC (big man on campus).”

Froelich was further told that Barron would be considered “apolitical” and does not get involve with political groups like college Republicans.

“Barron is pretty apolitical — he doesn’t get involved,” Froelich’s source said.

The former president of the NYU chapter of College Republicans said something similar in February, but was forced to resign from her post after she said Barron was an “oddity on campus” because he just went to class and went home.

“That’s not what he’s interested in,” Froelich’s source said.
