Republican Party will host its first-ever convention to be held prior to midterm elections.

The Republican Party will hold its first-ever national convention held before the upcoming midterm elections.

President Donald Trump announced the event with a post on Truth Social Tuesday. The goal is to boost the GOP prior to the midterms, will decide whether the party maintains control of Congress.

Trump revealed the convention is set for Sept. 9 and 10 in Dallas.

“BIG NEWS! For the first time ever, the Republican Party will hold a MIDTERM CONVENTION. It will be in Dallas, Texas — One of my favorite places in the World,” Trump wrote. “It will be fantastic! It has never been done before, and will be a truly Historic Event.”

“We are going to celebrate the GREAT AMERICAN COMEBACK, and the incredible successes of the American People who transformed our Country through the America First Agenda — NO TAX ON TIPS, NO TAX ON OVERTIME, NO TAX ON SOCIAL SECURITY, STRONGER BORDERS, SAFEST EVER COMMUNITIES, LOWER COSTS AND REAL AFFORDABILITY, MORE JOBS, AMERICAN ENERGY DOMINANCE, AND SO MUCH MORE!” the president continued. “Oil Prices are dropping sharply, even as we Denuclearize Iran. We are delivering on the promises that politicians talked about for decades, but never got done.”

He expounded upon all the event will offer.

“At the Event, we will have hardworking Americans, our Great Innovators, Entrepreneurs, Manufacturers, First Responders, and Job Creators who are powering our Nation's Golden Age, and proving that America's best days are still ahead of us,” Trump wrote. “We will also have lots of Great Entertainment — It will be a RALLY like none other!”

He also touted the convention being held as America celebrates it's 250th birthday.

“America's 250th Birthday is approaching, and together, we are building the foundation for the NEXT 250 YEARS of American Greatness. Dallas will take center stage on September 9th and 10th as we celebrate our Nation, our achievements, and our bright future. THE GOLDEN AGE OF AMERICA HAS ONLY JUST BEGUN!” he wrote.

Both political parties hold conventions in presidential election years.

However, Trump has broached the idea of holding a convention when House and Senate races are at stake.

If Democrats get control of either the House or Senate, it could spell disaster for Trump’s agenda.

Since Trump is not on the ballot for this election, Republican leaders are concerned it could be hard to spur the voters.

Trump suggested Republicans would use the event “to show the great things we have done since the Presidential Election of 2024.”

The Democratic National Committee has considered having a midterm convention of its own, but rejected it in light of its dire financial condition with lackluster fundraising and millions in debt.
