Fetterman Calls For Bernie Sanders to Apologize For Backing Platner
Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) said Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) needs to apologize for backing Graham Platner in his Senate campaign in Maine.
Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) believes Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) owes Americans an apology for backing Graham Platner’s Senate run in Maine.
“I would really call Bernie Sanders to apologize for pushing this kind of predator more than anyone he helped,” Fetterman told Laura Ingraham in an interview on Fox News.
“So I don’t know why you want to keep pushing these kinds of people,” Fetterman added.
Fetterman floated the idea that Sanders should take a break from endorsing candidates.
“Maybe he should consider sit a few out and stop pushing these kinds of communists and people,” he said given that Platner has “been credibly accused of rape.”

Fetterman said Platner was “a dead man walking, politically,” after The New York Times reported allegations of Platner acting abusively toward Lyndsey Fiifield, a woman he previously dated. That’s report came out last month.

When asked about how other Democratic senators looked past the allegations, Fetterman said he wasn’t willing to overlook the claims of women who described “toxic” and volatile relationships with Platner.
“Yeah, I mean, I refuse to overlook that,” Fetterman said.
But Sanders is not the only senator Fetterman thinks should apologize.
“Even those Pod Save America that pushed that dirtbag and they dismissed those things in the New York Times article, maybe they should apologize to the women they didn’t believe,” he said, referring to a liberal podcast.
Jenny Racicot, 41, of Maine dated Platner and told CNN’s Jake Tapperthat a drunk Platner entered her home and raped her 2021.
Racicot said Platner forced her to have sex even though she repeatedly told him to stop.
Platner did not remember what happened the next morning.

Platner denied the rape in a video posted after the latest accusation became public.
“Any accusation of non-consensual behavior is categorically false,” he said.
His campaign said the allegations were “coached and coordinated by out of state establishment operatives.”
