The 'Two-State' Solution Narrative Is Based on a Lie

Back when I was young and naive, studying international politics in college, I took a class on the Middle East conflicts, focused almost entirely on the Israel/Palestinian conflict.

By the end of the class, we all agreed: the only solution to the eternal-seeming conflict was two separate states, with Israel giving up some territory (which it has since done) and the Palestinians creating a state alongside Israel. 

It's the answer that everyone has come up with, in the abstract. It seems so rational and relatively simple. After all, "Palestinians" are already concentrated in those areas, and Jews (and a good chunk of Israeli-citizen Arabs) are already in Israel and a fully functioning state. 

Most Democratic critics of Israeli policies trot out the two-state solution whenever they want to appear reasonable in their criticisms, and the appeal has to many in the public been the same as it was to me and my classmates. It's just common sense. 

Rahm, like all the Democrats these days, is pretending the impediment to peace is Israeli intransigence.  

There is no partner for peace on the Palestinian side.  There has not been a single overture.  There is no credible diplomatic solution on the table that can ensure Israelis a secure Jewish state.

Democrats never tell Palestinians and their activists to tone down their rhetoric when they chant for the destruction of Israel.  Democrats never tell Palestinians that the window is closing if they don’t push for peace.  Democrats never tell Palestinians that their security situation is worsening due to their conduct.  

What the Palestinians are hearing from all of these leaders is that if they stay the course and keep Israel locked in a state of globally unpopular war, then Israel will lose international support and will be destroyed.

Of course, you have the same problem now as you did back in the late 1990s, the 1980s, the 1970s, and going all the way back to the days before Israel was even founded: there's nobody on the other side willing to negotiate. They don't want an end to the conflict; they want to drive the Jews out, and with any luck, do so by killing them. 

Every intermediary who has tried to resolve the conflict has discovered to their chagrin that the problem is not the Jews in Israel; shockingly, it's the people who tell you every day they are determined to kill them all. "From the River to the Sea" is not just a slogan. It is a mission statement. 

It’s one thing hearing it from Bill Clinton, but many simply dismiss him as a Zionist. 

It’s very different though when you hear how the Palestinians rejected peace proposals over and over again from an Arab who was on their side. 

Watch as Hosni Mubarak tells what happened and how the Palestinians never really wanted peace. All they wanted was to kill Jews and destroy Israel.

Palestinians didn't invent terrorism, but they mastered the art and turned it into a lifestyle, along with a grievance and hate culture that is second to none. 

The "Palestinian" identity is built on grievance; it is what makes a Palestinian a Palestinian. For all the talk of the "refugees" (nobody is a refugee after 75 years) being indigenous to Palestine/Israel, the truth is that most of the people who left during the first war against Israel came from elsewhere and were migrant workers. 

Surrounding Arab states supported the Palestinians for decades for a variety of reasons, but every single one that did regretted it. Palestinians are poison everywhere they wind up because their ideology is driven by hate and a desire for power. The Lebanese Civil War was caused by Palestinians, and the country, which used to be majority Christian and peaceful, has lived to regret its willingness to accommodate Palestinian refugees. 

During the latest Gaza war, no Arab country opened its arms to take in refugees. They aren't stupid, you know. Many of them are informally allied with Israel these days because they think the Iranians and Palestinians are nuts and dangerous.

Same with Jordan. The famous "Black September" was the result of a civil war kicked off by the PLO and Yassir Arafat, an Egyptian by birth, but Palestinian by ideology. 

Nearly every doctor, engineer, teacher, and a large chunk of the population in Gaza are either members of or sympathizers with Hamas. Whenever you hear of a "doctor" or "journalist" being killed or captured by the IDF in Gaza, you can bet quite a bit of money they are Hamas. The more professional they are, the more likely they are, and they are likely to have high ranks in the organization. 

Billions of dollars in aid have poured into Gaza and the West Bank, and all of it gets squandered or looted for the sake of the corrupt leaders of the political movements or to be repurposed for war. Westerners build schools, water supplies, industrial plants such as cement factories, and all of it gets repurposed for war.

Oh would you look at that… Hamas operatives coming out from a tunnel… in Gaza… inside a school… with lots and lots and lots and lots of… weapons. 

And then they just casually move through the school and stack the weapons inside cupboards and specially concealed nooks. 

And when the IDF come for those weapons that will be used to KILL Israelis, the whole Arab and western world and the UN will cry and shout and scream that Israel “targets schools and… children” while Hamas cry and pretend they are the victims. 

It’s all so predictable and boring already. When the kids die, this is why. And all the fake moral outrage and condemnation at Israel for doing what the rest of the world sees but does nothing about is all too pathetic. 

If the world intentionally turns a blind eye to schools and kids being used as human shields, then it is the world, NOT ISRAEL, responsible for the consequences.

Every "expert" who talks about the conflict knows this. The major media outlets hire Hamas propagandists to report from Gaza because any independent journalist would get killed if they contradicted the propaganda. Every statistic of Palestinian casualties is provided by Hamas  (The "Gaza Health Ministry" is just a name for Hamas), and yet they pretend to be telling you the truth. 

None of this is to say that the Gaza war hasn't been brutal. It has been. It is war, and war is brutal. But the narrative of atrocities and genocide is built on lies and propaganda. No doubt some Israeli soldiers have done awful things that they should not have, because that happens in all wars, but there is no systematic attempt to harm civilians; rather, the opposite.

Antisemites and their fellow travelers are willing to lie without remorse. Whether it is because they hate Jews, hate Western Culture, love the "Global South," or just love revolutionaries doesn't matter. They are 100% dedicated to their cause and happy to lie for their cause. 

Hamas, ironically, is much more honest in some cases. They filmed their atrocities on October 7th and made propaganda videos about digging up water pipes to turn them into rockets. They are proud of their tunnel complexes, built with Western aid from that cement factory we helped build. 

Just as Iran is quite open about its determination to destroy America and Israel and Islamize the world, Hamas openly brags about its terrorism. The Palestinian Authority has for decades paid the families of "martyrs" (terrorists who died in suicide attacks) stipends in a "pay to slay" program. It was called the Palestinian Authority Martyrs Fund, which has been renamed to hide its purpose after decades out in the open, but it still exists. 

Western aid helps pay for it.

The "Palestinians are victims" narrative is dead wrong, historically illiterate, and propagated out of an intent to deceive or simple ignorance. 

Palestinians want to kill Israelis. They say so when they are in the Middle East, and say so in the West. 

Would a two state solution be nice in principle? Sure. But until the entire identity of Palestinians is no longer based on driving Jews out of Israel, it's as much a "solution" to the problem as digging for gold in your back yard would be to your money woes. It ain't gonna happen.
