Peak Mamdani This Week

It's only Wednesday, and two stories have come across my feed that fit perfectly into the "Mamdani Gaslighting" category.
I'm not sure that gaslighting is precisely the right word, because the people who love Mamdani love to be lied to by him. They practically swoon every time they see that fake smile plastered on his face and hear his false promises of prosperity and utopia for all. They are 2nd-rate Christie McVies in this regard.

Still, nearly every move Mamdani makes confirms exactly what you would expect of the mayor. Self-serving and ideologically committed.
The first story that I came across was the proposal to radically increase the salaries of top New York City officials, which amount to nearly 20%. The excuse is that the cost of living has increased, which is of course true, unless you are a landlord who can't recoup the rising cost of keeping up one's properties. If you allowed them to raise rents they might be able to fix up their properties, preventing the city from seizing them.

It's not that city officials are underpaid to begin with. Mamdani's salary is already very generous, although admittedly it is still far from the one that Anthony Fauci got while killing millions.
Mamdani's new proposed salary would pay him more than the combined salaries of the Governor of Florida & Texas. NYC Council Members would earn more than Members of Congress and the state legislators in all 50 states. pic.twitter.com/FGqa6WoY84

I suppose you could argue that unless you have high pay, you won't get the best and the brightest. Except, that's not exactly what a communist should think, and it's also obviously not true. In fact, people line up for the job around the block, and if Mamdani is among he 'best and brightest," we need a new definition.

It's more likely that Mamdani want to raise the salaries for the same reason that NGOs have executives making $500,000 salaries: it's a perk for people who live off other people's money, which in both cases is the taxpayers.
The other story I ran across was this tweet from Mamdani, which more perfectly captures the spirit of the New New York:
Zohran wants everyone at the table, so he’s having meetings with all kinds of people.
South Asian Muslims, middle eastern Muslims, African Muslims, Palestinian Muslims… you know, everyone. The whole city.
We all have a seat at the table. Absolutely no favorites with Zohran! https://t.co/nRrd5l3CEs
— Hon. Vickie Paladino (@VickieforNYC) July 8, 2026
As we work to make New York City more affordable, we need everyone at the table.
Last week, I sat down with Muslim community leaders whose work spans boroughs, languages and generations. We talked about the challenges Muslim New Yorkers face every day and the solutions we can build together.
The best ideas don't come from City Hall. They come from New Yorkers. And we'll keep partnering and governing together as we build a city that everyone can afford.
Everybody gets a seat at the table indeed. As Vickie Paladino so succinctly put it, every shade of Muslim gets the Mayor's ear.
He's not even hiding it here, as he so often does. "Everyone at the table" has a special definition for Zohran.

Speaking of being at the table, gorging yourself on tax dollars, Mamdani is setting aside a decent chunk of cash for a new program.

I suppose if you have to choose between trans equity and public safety, the choice was obvious for Mamdani. So on-brand.
Of course, Zohran isn't the only Mamdani making waves. His wife, who was careful to avoid anything resembling celebration on the 4th of July, is jetting off to Corsica to redefine the story of Mary into a parable for the Palestinian cause.
Rama Duwaji, wife of NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani, is co-hosting an expensive spiritual retreat in Corsica, honoring Jesus' mother Mary as a "Palestinian woman giving birth under occupation".
Tickets range from around $3,000 to $5,000 for a trip of prayer, lectures, and food, all to… pic.twitter.com/Wfr6rVwUI3

Tickets range from around $3,000 to $5,000 for a trip of prayer, lectures, and food, all to distort the well-documented truth that Jesus was Jewish.
For such an expensive propaganda trip, one can only hope they receive a decent gift bag.

"Everybody," in her case, includes only people with enough cash and bad sense to spend their time on this nonsense. No doubt she will find a way to tie Mary and Jesus to the birth of Islam. Or perhaps Mary was a communist.
Certainly not a Jew. Never a Jew.
I'm not an end times guy by any means, but I can see why many people are. We live in insane times.
