Pritzker Is Worse Than Newsom

I've been paying close attention to the Governor of Illinois, JB Pritzker, lately. 

I'm not sure why I started doing so, since Gavin Newsom is the more prominent of the two when it comes to the race to the top of the Democratic nomination contest, but I have this feeling that Pritzker is actually the more dangerous of the two should he ever get elected to even higher office.

Newsom is, needless to say, an awful, oily, corrupt, and morally degenerate man. But I also think that he is, for the most part, ideologically hollow. He says and does what he believes will help him politically, and in California, being a radical progressive is the key to success in the race to become the nominee. 

Pritzker is, ideologically, the real deal. He is a radical in extra-large-size radical clothing. And he has access to billions of dollars because his net worth is about $4 billion, and of course, his family has much more of it. 

Pritzker, perhaps because of his money, is one of the favored Democrats with the political class. POLITICO, for instance, calls him a moderate, as they do Gavin Newsom.

He is, of course, anything but. He regularly holds press conferences with Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson on crime and immigration, is perhaps more radical on alphabet issues than Gavin, and doesn't believe crime is a problem. He is one of the most vocal on open borders and opposes deporting even violent criminal illegal aliens. 

There is nothing moderate about him at all. He is the opposite: a funder and leader of the radical left. He is also eager to use the power of the federal government to suppress conservative speech and, literally, imprison Republicans with whom he disagrees. 

Pritzker is himself breaking the law by actively impeding the enforcement of federal law, but that's (D)ifferent. He knows he is protected and would love to pick that fight with Donald Trump.

Gavin Newsom is the shiny object that attracts our attention, and perhaps he really will become the Democrats' nominee for president. But, even with his progressive instincts, I doubt he would risk much political capital in his first term to push his most radical ideas, and would probably react as Bill Clinton did in 1994 when rebuked by the voters. 

Pritzker? He is a true believer. I think he may be scarier than Newsom or even AOC.
