Jerome Powell: Bad Driver

Once again, Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell refused to raise interest rates despite President Trump’s threats, cajoling, and outright insults. 

President Trump said each rate point costs the US 365 billion dollars annually and there is no reason not to lower rates. Inflation is under 3 percent and Trump has been receiving a spate of good economic news lately, including a three percent jump in GDP growth, 2 million more jobs created, and continued good trade deals with other countries—most recently South Korea. Chuck Schumer ridiculously disparaged the good news as ‘chaos.’ Apparently Jerome agrees with Chucky.

This is the problem with having a politicized Federal Reserve. Powell was happy to lower rates for Biden and Kamala Harris (to help her get elected), but refuses to help Trump. Powell has Trump Derangement Syndrome, but the president is winning anyway, but his ‘Golden Age’ would arrive much faster if Powell would lower the rates. It is well known that Senator Elizabeth Warren is in the pocket of the big banks and when she told Powell to lower rates, he did, but it’s doubtful Pocahontas will help Trump by dispensing the same advice. That said, more Fed governors urged a rate drop than during the Clinton era.

Powell’s stubbornness only underlines the need to end the Federal Reserve. The Constitution states Congress should control money, but they allowed private, globalist central bankers to take over that responsibility. That’s why Bernanke sent huge amounts of money to European banks during the 2008 crisis and refused to tell Congress how much was sent and to which bank. That’s when many woke up and realized the central bankers control things—not Congress. That needs to change.
