Iran Erupts In Protests – GrrrGraphics

Massive protests are taking place throughout Iran and we hope the citizens soon break the chains forced upon them by the mullahs.
The protesters are fed up. They face economic collapse, harsh oppression from theocratic rulers, and dwindling water supplies. There’s only so much a population can take. It’s hard to be fearful when one is hungry, thirsty, and desperate. People throughout Iran are losing their fear.
Iran should be one of the richest countries in the Middle East. After all, they have plenty oil and minerals in the ground. When the Shah was in charge, Iran’s economy was booming. Their GDP was much higher than neighboring counties. Women did not fear getting murdered if they wore their headdresses wrong—they were able to wear whatever they liked. The Shah was trying to westernize Iran, but Jimmy Carter was weak and he blew it—instead of supporting Shah, he allowed medieval Islamic fanatics to take over Iran and its citizens have suffered under the yoke of the Ayatollahs since.

They ignored the problem, then covered it up, and even blamed it on the people. They mismanaged the water supply by digging over one million water wells, and that has depleted their aquifers. In Tehran, there have been numerous subsidences as a result.
Too many dams were built throughout Iran and they have disrupted river flows. Water that should have replenished Lake Urmia, Iran’s largest lake, has dwindled to nothing. Winds now blow toxic lake bed materials throughout the region—causing respiratory distress and even lung cancer. The lake was drained in order to water fields of impractical crops demanded by the leadership. Israel has built high-tech desalination plants and they were able to refill the Sea of Galilee, but Iran didn’t develop such infrastructure. Instead, the Ayatollahs and mullahs spent vast sums of money in the pursuit of nuclear weapons and missiles to carry them. Money and resources were also sent to terrorist groups such as Hezbollah and Hamas. Under the Shah, Iran was friends with Israel, but the Islamic fanatics in Iran want permanent jihad.
Now, that war mongering theocracy might collapse. Trump should not send US boots on Iran’s ground to help the protestors. The Iranian people can do it themselves.
