BOCA RATON, Fla. — Republican congressional nominee Scott Singer this week secured endorsements from Florida’s largest police union and the nation’s leading small-business advocacy group as he campaigns to unseat Democratic U.S. Rep. Jared Moskowitz in Florida’s 25th Congressional District.

The Florida Police Benevolent Association, which represents 31,000 law enforcement professionals statewide, announced its support in a letter from Florida PBA and Palm Beach County PBA President John Kazanjian. The National Federation of Independent Business followed with an endorsement citing Singer’s record as a small-business owner and three-term mayor of Boca Raton.

Kazanjian praised Singer’s “proven track record, tenacity, and commitment to public safety,” writing that the former mayor would “vigorously advocate to protect and defend the rights of all law enforcement officers in the United States Congress.”

The union pointed to Singer’s years in public office, including his work balancing budgets and prioritizing public safety in Boca Raton. It said it expects him to push for better wages and benefits, stronger recruitment, solutions to staffing shortages, and protections for officers nationwide.

Singer said he was honored by the PBA’s support.

“I’m grateful to President John Kazanjian and the men and women who put their lives on the line every day to protect our families and communities,” he said. “As mayor of Boca Raton, public safety was always one of my top priorities. It is the primary function of government and deserves our strong support so everyone in our community feels safe.”

He said he worked with local law enforcement to keep resources in place and crime low, and that he would continue that approach in Congress.

“I will always advocate on behalf of our brave police, law enforcement, and first responders so they have resources to keep South Florida safe,” Singer said. “The men and women who wear the badge deserve leaders who will always have their backs.”

NFIB Political Director Louis Bertolotti said the group backed Singer because of his background as a small-business owner and his record cutting taxes and advancing pro-business policies as mayor.

“As a small business owner himself, Scott Singer has pledged to stand up for small businesses across South Florida once elected to Congress,” Bertolotti said. “He has already proven his abilities as Mayor of Boca Raton, lowering taxes and implementing pro-business policies. We are looking forward to working with him in Washington during the 120th Congress.”

Singer, who also owns a local business, said NFIB understands the pressures facing independent employers.

“I know firsthand what it takes to meet a payroll, create jobs, and keep a business growing while dealing with regulations and red tape along the way,” he said. “In Congress, I will continue standing up for South Florida’s small businesses by working to lower costs, cut taxes, reduce unnecessary regulations, expand economic opportunity, and ensure that Washington listens to the entrepreneurs and job creators who drive our economy.”

Singer served Boca Raton for more than a decade, including three terms as mayor, before leaving office this year because of term limits. He won the Republican nomination in August after a five-candidate primary and will face Moskowitz, a two-term Democrat, in the Nov. 3 general election.

The newly drawn 25th District runs along the coast from Delray Beach in Palm Beach County through Broward County into Miami Beach in Miami-Dade County. Singer has also drawn support from President Donald Trump, House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, Gov. Ron DeSantis, Attorney General James Uthmeier and a slate of South Florida mayors.
