The offices of KXTV (ABC10) in Sacramento were struck by gunfire Friday afternoon, Sacramento police Officer Anthony Gamble told Deadline. No one was injured.

The day before, the building of KXTV, an ABC affiliate station owned by Tegna, was the site of a protest over the network’s suspension of Jimmy Kimmel Live! No protesters were at the building when shots were fired.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired at the TV station shortly after 1:30 pm Friday. Gamble said at least three gunshots were fired from a passing vehicle into a window of the building, which was occupied at the time. Police did not have a description of the suspect vehicle, nor did they have any suspects.

Detectives were at the scene and investigating whether the shooting was random or targeted.

The demonstration outside the building Thursday was part of widespread protests over ABC’s suspension of Kimmel following his comments about Charlie Kirk, including one held outside Disney studios in Burbank and another in Hollywood where Jimmy Kimmel Live! is taped. Attendees at the Sacramento protest held signs reading “First Amendment,” “Resist” and “You’re Next” among others.
