8,960 Baby Bath Seats Recalled On Amazon Over Drowning Hazard

More than 8,000 baby bath seats sold on Amazon have been recalled after the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) determined they could tip over and drown infants.
The CPSC issued the recall on December 11 for YCXXKJ Baby Bath Seats, citing violations of mandatory safety standards. The recall affects approximately 8,960 units sold between May 2024 and October 2025. The seats, available in blue, gray, pink, and yellow, retailed for $34 to $40.
According to the CPSC, the seats are “unstable and can tip over while in use, posing a risk of serious injury or death due to drowning.” No injuries have been reported.
The recalled seats feature two detachable arms for restraint and four suction cups on the bottom. They come with three bath toys shaped like a duck, a turtle, and a whale. Parents who purchased these seats should stop using them immediately.
The manufacturer, BenTalk, is offering full refunds. To receive a refund, owners must email two photos to [email protected]. The first photo should show “recalled” written in permanent marker on the seat’s front. The second photo must display the disassembled seat with all parts removed.
Bath seat drownings remain a persistent danger despite safety regulations. Infants can drown in less than two inches of water within minutes.
Even with suction cups, bath seats can detach from tub surfaces when children shift their weight. Parents often mistakenly believe the seats allow them to leave children unattended.
The CPSC maintains strict standards for infant bath products. The recalled seats violate the mandatory federal safety standard for infant bath seats, according to the agency.
