Suspect In Police Standoff Dies Of Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound

An hours-long standoff in a downtown Dallas parking garage concluded Monday evening when a wanted felon barricaded in a car died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.
The incident began around 3:45 p.m. in the 1600 block of Commerce Street, near the flagship Neiman Marcus store, after officers responded to an assist call and attempted to arrest the man.
Authorities set up a perimeter and urged people to steer clear of nearby streets as they negotiated for a surrender.
No officers or bystanders were hurt during the incident.
The Dallas Police Department has not released any information on the suspect’s identity or the criminal charges he was wanted for.
