Three Americans Allegedly Conspired To Aid ISIS Against US Troops
Federal agents apprehended three American citizens across two states Friday, accusing them of plotting to fund attacks on U.S. troops by one of the world’s most notorious terrorist groups.
Bisaam Ghafoor, 21, of Leawood, Kansas, Elias Shamsaldeen, 21, of Porterville, California, and Bereen Dzayee, 25, of Lakeside, California, were charged with conspiring to provide material support to terrorism, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced. The three pooled more than $2,000 and handed it to someone they thought was part of the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS), according to a federal complaint.
Prosecutors said the money was meant to buy drones and rocket-propelled grenades for killing American servicemembers stationed abroad. Ghafoor’s name was inscribed on a projectile while Shamsaldeen supplied funds in order to acquire drones, the complaint alleged. (RELATED: Trump Announces Overnight Operation Killing Top ISIS Leader)
The complaint quotes a string of violent statements allegedly drawn from the men’s private messages. Ghafoor remarked it would be “sick” to see his name on a drone employed against Americans and claimed he had always longed to behead a female soldier, adding, “I wish I could kill 300,000,000 Americans,” according to the complaint. Dzayee allegedly proposed striking U.S. Special Forces with drones while Shamsaldeen voiced a wish to stab a member of the U.S. armed forces.

The men allegedly communicated between February 2025 and June 2026 to consider multiple plans. They allegedly gave their allegiance to ISIS and its leader via Discord, voice calls and additional communication platforms and spoke of traveling overseas to fight and die for the cause, according to the complaint.
FBI Director Kash Patel praised the operation in a statement. “These subjects allegedly swore allegiance to ISIS, plotted multiple attacks, and even targeted U.S. service members — but this FBI stopped them cold,” he said.
The arrests took place Friday morning, with the case filed in the District of Kansas, WIBW reported. A complaint is only an accusation and each defendant is presumed innocent unless convicted.
