TPUSA Lays Groundwork To Put JD Vance Endorsement Into Action
Turning Point USA (TPUSA) is planning to put boots on the ground in a nascent effort to shore up support for Vice President JD Vance nearly three years before voters hit the ballot boxes in the 2028 presidential election.
TPUSA plans to develop campaign infrastructure in Iowa, which hosts important early caucuses for any presidential hopeful, by placing representatives around the state, according to a Los Angeles Times report on Sunday. Vance delivered a 30-minute address at TPUSA’s annual conference before Christmas, where he laid out a forward-looking vision for a GOP coalition seeking leadership after President Donald Trump.
“We don’t care if you’re white or black, rich or poor, young or old, rural or urban, controversial or a little bit boring or somewhere in between. People of every faith come to our banner because they know that the America First movement will make their lives better,” Vance said at the conference. “I know some of are discouraged by the infighting over any number of issues. Don’t be discouraged. Wouldn’t you rather lead a movement of free thinkers, who sometimes disagree, than a bunch of drones who take their orders from George Soros?” (RELATED: Turning Point USA Faces Greatest Challenge Yet After Charlie Kirk’s Assassination)

TPUSA CEO Erika Kirk, widow of the late Charlie Kirk, endorsed Vance during the event, highlighting the “coalition-building” influence of Turning Point.
“We’re going to ensure that President Trump has Congress for all four years. We are going to get my husband’s friend JD Vance elected for 48 in the most resounding way possible,” Erika Kirk said at the conference.
“There are so many ways to get involved. That’s why Charlie built Turning Point USA the way he did. He didn’t care about your race, your age, your background,” Kirk said. “Don’t you dare let anyone tell you you’re too young, you’re not smart enough, and you’re not connected enough. As long as you’re a part of Turning Point USA, we will empower you and give whatever you need to be able to make that come to life.” (RELATED: Young Conservatives Rally Around JD Vance, Sour on Pam Bondi Post Epstein Rollout, TPUSA Poll Shows)

The organization’s deployment of representatives in Iowa to develop early campaign infrastructure represents a strategic focus on the Midwest bastion of presidential approval. Despite Iowa’s low delegate count—only 1.6 percent in the 2024 Republican National Convention—the Iowa caucus acts as a first test of a presidential candidate’s approval among voters.
President Donald Trump won the 2024 Iowa caucus by a nearly 30-point margin. However, from 2008-2020, the winner of the leading candidate in the Iowa caucuses failed to follow up with a win in the presidential election.
“My friends, there is so much more to be done. And the people saying, ‘We need to be doing more, we need to be doing it faster,’ trust me, I hear ya. Greatness awaits every single one of you in the America First movement we are building together, but we need your help to get there,” Vance said at the conference. “Now the Democrats are already talking about 2028, and it looks like they’re going to nominate a California liberal who’s presided over rolling blackouts, open borders, and unchecked violent gangs. They’re just trying to settle on whether it’s going to be Gavin Newsom or Kamala Harris.”
