Why Are Sports Teams Celebrating Kwanzaa When Black Americans Are Into Christmas Like Rest Of Us?

First off, I hope everybody had a good Christmas, just wanted to say that as I start to shake off holiday mode as New Yearβs approaches. But while I do that and while weβre still in the holidays, let me talk about something that quite frankly irks me.
So, while I was scrolling down my timeline earlier today on Twitter, I happened to see a sports team put up a post celebrating Kwanzaa. And then I saw two, then three, four, five, six, oh yeah, the Kwanzaa celebration was real Friday. According to a study from Collage Group, only 18% of black Americans celebrate Kwanzaa, meaning that the other 82% are right there with the rest of us Americans celebrating Christmas. Ya know, Jesusβ birthday, and good for them!
So, I canβt help but to ask β¦ what the hell are we doing, sports world?
