A pardoned Jan. 6 rioter has been charged with sex crimes including molestation of a child under 12 years old, according to an arrest affidavit

Andrew Johnson has also been charged with lewd and lascivious molestation of a child from 12 to 16 years old, lewd and lascivious exhibition and harmful material transmitted to a minor, according to the Herndon County Sheriff’s Office arrest affidavit. Johnson allegedly sent photos of girls at a pool to the son of his ex-girlfriend via Discord and suggested that the girls would perform a sex act on him in one of his messages. The minor’s mother found the messages and questioned if Johnson had ever been inappropriate with him, according to the affidavit.

The minor then told his mother that Johnson had allegedly molested him three times between April 1, 2024 and October 2024. The minor claimed that he awoke to find Johnson’s hand in his pants and stroking his genitals on two occasions, according to the affidavit. The minor allegedly confronted Johnson and told him he knew what Johnson had done was wrong. Johnson apologized to the minor and told him not to disclose the alleged acts because he would be in trouble, the affidavit said.

Johnson allegedly mailed the minor an iPhone 7 and told him not to reveal it. Johnson instructed the child to reset the phone to factory settings and delete everything if anyone ever found it, according to the affidavit. He allegedly told the child to delete their Discord messages if they were discovered. The child claimed Johnson showed him and an unidentified individual photos of his genitals as well as videos of him kissing other males and carrying out sex acts on them, according to the affidavit.

On another occasion, Johnson exposed his genitals to both individuals inside his van and told them to look, the affidavit alleged.

Johnson also allegedly told the minor he had been pardoned for his role in the Jan. 6 riot and would be receiving $10,000,000 in reparations as a result. Johnson allegedly said he would put the minor in his will to receive any of the leftover money seemingly as a way to keep the child from revealing what he’d done.

Johnson pleaded not guilty to the charges, The Intercept reported. He faces two criminal cases, one for each child, with his trials scheduled for early next year, according to the outlet. U.S. Marshals said he was arrested back in August 2025 in Tennessee before being extradited to Florida, WZTV reported. In the spring of 2024, Johnson pleaded guilty to charges of violently entering the U.S. Capitol as well as disorderly conduct, according to The Intercept. He was among multiple Jan. 6 rioters who received a pardon from President Donald Trump when he took office in January 2025.
