Anthony Hopkins revealed he was unfaithful to his former wife, Jennifer Lynton, during their marriage, detailing the affairs in his new memoir, “We Did OK, Kid.”

The Oscar-winning actor reflected on his relationships and the toll of his infidelities in the book, released Tuesday, according to People. (RELATED: ‘Drunk Out Of My Skull’: Anthony Hopkins Makes Startling Revelation About His Past Addiction)

“She turned a blind eye to whatever I was up to. It was only years later that she knew about my infidelities,” Hopkins wrote. “I don’t know whether she took a lover too. I rather hope she did. I would never blame her for it.”

Hopkins admitted deep regret over how he treated Lynton, saying he wishes she had found happiness despite his behavior.

“It would be some consolation to know that she found some happiness in those years in spite of me,” he wrote. “It was sad because she deserved better than me, she really did. She brought a change in my life, and I blew it. I take full responsibility for that.”

The 87-year-old has been married three times. He wed Petronella Barker first, then Lynton, before marrying his current wife, Stella Arroyave, in 2003.

Hopkins met Lynton in 1969, noting in his memoir that she “stayed with me for 20 years.”

“She’d caught a tiger by the tail,” Hopkins wrote, admitting he made life difficult for Lynton.

He describes himself as a “mess” following their split, citing a string of professional and personal failures. “I was on the run from rocky dealings on films, broken relationships with women, my lack of trust, a neurotic insistence on being isolated,” he recalled, according to People.

Elsewhere in the memoir, Hopkins opened up about his struggle with alcoholism, his path to sobriety, and his decades-long estrangement from his daughter, Abigail.
