Mysterious Model On Trump's Desk Fuels Rumors Of New DC Monument Plans

A peculiar 3D model spotted on President Donald Trump’s desk Thursday has fueled speculation about a potential new monument across from the Lincoln Memorial.

AFP photographer Jim Watson captured the model during Trump’s meeting with Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Prime Minister Petteri Orpo. The images appear to show an aerial map of the Lincoln Memorial area with a miniature triumphal arch positioned across the Potomac River. The model includes a golden winged angel atop the structure flanked by two white eagles, with a larger version of the same design placed beside the map on the Resolute Desk.

The design closely matches renderings shared in September by Nicolas Leo Charbonneau, a partner at Harrison Design. The firm published concept art depicting a triumphal arch positioned in the traffic circle near Arlington National Cemetery.

There is currently no evidence Harrison Design is affiliated or partnered with the federal government.

The appearance of the model coincides with preparations for America’s 250th anniversary in 2026 — a milestone Trump has tied to plans for a National Garden of American Heroes and other patriotic festivities.

AFP White House correspondent Danny Kemp highlighted the model’s placement during the Finland meeting, which otherwise centered on an 11-ship icebreaker deal and discussions about Ukraine.

The White House has not confirmed any monument project or released information on potential funding or construction plans. It also did not respond to the Daily Caller’s request for comment.
