Victoria’s Secret unveiled WNBA star Angel Reese as its newest “angel” Thursday, rolling out an ad campaign that recasts the basketball phenom as a lingerie model.

Reese swaps sneakers for wings, posing in black lace while on-screen text asks, “Is it the height? Is it the hustle? Is it the wingspan?” before flashing, “Welcome Angel” in a teaser posted to Instagram. The clip marks Reese’s runway debut with the brand, a milestone marking Victoria’s Secret’s first-ever featuring a professional athlete. Reese shows off her sculpted abs in a black lingerie set, a reveal that sent fans flooding social media with reactions within minutes of the post.

Thousands of fans and celebrities praised the ad, including former Louisiana State University gymnast and influencer Livvy Dunne and model Brooks Nader.

Reese now joins a lineage of Victoria’s Secret icons — from Gisele Bündchen and Tyra Banks to Bella and Gigi Hadid — in what the brand seems to be pitching as a new era of its runway.

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show will return Oct. 15 in New York City. The company said the performance lineup will feature Karol G, Madison Beer, Missy Elliott, and the K-pop group TWICE.
