REPORT: Police Arrest Three Suspects After Robbery, Car Chase Prompts Lockdowns

Police arrested three suspects Friday following an armored car robbery that turned into a chase through Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties and prompted lockdowns at multiple area schools, according to NBC 10.
Police officers were getting coffee near City Avenue when they spotted at least three men appearing to break into an armored car, NBC 10 reported. The suspects were armed and fled the scene when spotted by police and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents searching for suspects of previous armored car robberies, police said.
The suspects then led Philadelphia Police and Lower Merion Police on a chase through Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties. Additionally, officers on foot searched for the suspects in Lower Merion.

A shelter-in-place order went into effect for Lower Merion Schools, Bala Cynwyd, and Saint Joseph’s University’s Hawk Hill campus, according to NBC 10.
Two suspects were arrested at 52nd and Parrish Streets in West Philadelphia, CBS News reported. A third suspect was located near Conshohocken State Road in Lower Merion Township. Lower Merion Police Superintendent Andy Block recalled the incident, telling NBC 10 his team was called for assistance.
“These individuals fled from police on the city side. They notified us for assistance,” Block said.
Around 12:45 p.m., Block said the three suspects had been caught. The lockdowns were later lifted at the Lower Merion schools and Saint Joseph’s University, according to NBC 10. Police were also set to assist at nearby schools at dismissal as a precaution, Block said. The shelter-in-place order was also lifted, CBS News reported.
The Daily Caller contacted the Philadelphia Police Department, which directed the Caller to the FBI.
A spokesperson for the Philadelphia FBI confirmed the suspects were arrested in an email to the Daily Caller.
“Earlier today, the FBI responded to an alleged attempted robbery of an armored vehicle. The subjects are in custody. We appreciate the swift and coordinated response of our partners at the Philadelphia Police Department, Lower Merion Township Police Department, and the Pennsylvania State Police. As the investigation is ongoing, I decline to comment further,” the spokesperson said.
