Heads Need To Roll After USA's Embarrassing Loss On Home Soil

Forget about James Comey: if there’s one man in America deserving of an indictment, it’s Team USA’s Ryder Cup captain, Keegan Bradley.

Losing on home turf is painful enough, yet everything seemed to have been exacerbated by Bradley, who made a couple of crucial strategic mistakes throughout the weekend. (Subscribe to MR. RIGHT, a free weekly newsletter about modern masculinity)

The first was pairing Collin Morikawa and Harris English. They got smoked on Friday, and instead of changing up the game plan for Saturday, a headstrong Bradley kept them together. And guess what? They got smoked again, by Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood.

Bradley was adamant that his plan would succeed, though.

“In the past sometimes we have panicked with the pairings and switched everything up, and it hasn’t worked out,” Bradley said. “We wanted to stick with the plan, and that’s what we did.”

His second mistake was pairing world number one Scottie Scheffler with Russell Henley. On Friday, Henley, despite having one of the shortest drives on the PGA tour, assumed the role of teeing off on the odd-numbered holes, which favor a heavy hitter. They ended up losing, tweaked the strategy for Saturday, with Scottie driving the odd holes, but still lost.

Bradley then paired Scottie with Bryson DeChambeau, which amounted to an all-star partnership. Yet both players couldn’t match Fleetwood and Justin Rose, both of whom were playing out of their minds. Scottie ended up becoming the first player in the modern era of the Ryder Cup to go 0-4 in team play, having lost all of his matches Friday and Saturday.

Home field advantage is important at the Ryder Cup because it allows the hosts to tweak the course, trim the rough, lengthen holes, etc. However, Team USA’s adjustments for Bethpage Black seemed to create conditions reminiscent of a British Open, which played into the hands of the Europeans. Bradley even acknowledged the mistake.

“We tried to set the course up to help our team,” he said. “Obviously, it wasn’t the right decision.”

All in all, this year’s Ryder Cup was marred by chaos. Team USA’s strategy was chaotic. Scottie was playing like a muni weekend warrior. Caddies were bickering. The fans were brawling. Their taunts and jeers were dumb. Beer was tossed at McIlroy’s wife.

This is unacceptable. We need a complete overhaul of Team USA before 2027. Bradley needs to go. Our top stars need to step out and play like top stars. If we lose three consecutive Ryder Cups, dare I say America is no longer the greatest country on earth?

Where is Donald Trump? Where is Pam Bondi? We need accountability now.
