Mother Nature can be a vicious woman! Wow!

Tourists on a safari ended up seeing their canoes getting thrashed by an elephant, dumping them in a river infested with crocodiles. The incident took place Saturday in Botswana in Southern Africa.

Multiple canoes were on a Okavango Delta wildlife safari, with all of them being charged at by the bull elephant, but there were two in particular that got hammered to send people into the water. It’s believed that the elephant was protecting its young following the guides getting too close. (RELATED: Tropical Storm Imelda Forms, Expected To Become Hurricane With Humberto Close By)

Known as mokoros, the canoes had both American and British tourists on them. Safaris in mokoros are popular due to being able to see elephants, crocodiles, hippopotamuses and birds such as herons and kingfishers.

As you’ll see in the video, the guides tried to make an escape by quickly back paddling, but the elephant’s fury was too much to get away from as the two closest canoes suffered the beast’s wrath.

Fortunately, it doesn’t appear that anyone died or suffered injuries, which could have easily been the case.

I’ve always wanted to go on an African safari, I still do want to go on an African safari, but then I come across videos like these where I’m just like, “ehh, maybe I should just stay inside and stick with covering a hurricane.”

Even then, I want to chase those things one day. I even have a friend of mine who wants to partner with me. So, I just know I wouldn’t be able to resist a safari if I had the chance to go on one.

Still though, scary stuff, but there’s just something about that adrenaline rush from nature that makes you feel alive.
