Tony Hawk's Skateboard During His Most Iconic Run Sells At Auction For Double Presale Estimate

Wait for it, wait for it … CHA-CHING!!
Tony Hawk‘s skateboard that he used to score an unheard of 900 in X Games competition auctioned off for a whopping $1.152 million Wednesday.
Julien’s Auctions, the handlers of the skateboard’s sale, stated that the price it sold for approximately doubled the estimate of the presale. Taking place in Los Angeles, Hawk was in attendance for the auction, which accepted bids online. The buyer of the skateboard was not revealed.
The 57-year-old Hawk spoke earlier in September about the hopes he had for who would purchase the skateboard. (RELATED: Blue Jays’ George Springer Makes One Hell Of Claim Against MLB After Scandalous Scene Against Red Sox)
“I hope that it’s someone that truly appreciates it or that that event or that object meant something to them and it’s not just a flex because they have the money. I guess that’s what I’m worried about,” said Hawk, per ESPN. “… I would be stoked if it’s someone that had a connection to skating or that maybe they’re going to display it somewhere for other people to see.”
The auction also saw other 900 items purchased Wednesday, which featured $115,200 for the helmet Hawk wore, $64,000 for the sneakers and $57,600 for the kneepads. Other items from Hawk’s career were also included in the auction.
According to Hawk, money from the auction will be going to The Skatepark Project, a nonprofit he owns that is meant to construct skate parks in areas that are considered underserved.

If I was a millionaire, I would’ve spent $1.15 million for Hawk’s skateboard … would look delightful on a collectibles shelf.
