Streaming Giant Blasted For Strangely-Timed Report On Serious Allegations Surrounding NFL Superstar

The timing was way off … off.
Fans of the Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills and just football in general tuned into “Thursday Night Football” to see superstars like Tyreek Hill and Josh Allen do their thing, but in the middle of it, they got slapped with domestic violence news. And in such a strange fashion.
During the Amazon Prime broadcast of the AFC East rivalry game between the Dolphins and Bills, with just minutes to go in a very intense game that either side could have won at that point, the crew made the decision to report on the domestic violence allegations that currently surround Hill. Prime reporter Kaylee Hartung went pretty deep into it in a quick flash, bringing up court documents that feature the claims from Hill’s estranged wife Keeta Vaccaro. The docs allege several incidents of domestic violence from Hill against Vaccaro.
And while I have no problem with the actual reporting itself, it came in such a weird time in such a close game.

Yikes: The Amazon broadcast started talking about Tyreek Hill’s allegations during tonight’s game.
A bizarre and unusual thing to do 😬😳pic.twitter.com/Rk6oA8UkCY

I might be a Miami Dolphins fan, but I’m also a journalist (yes, yes, don’t let my dumb little sports blogs fool you), so I get the reporting side of things. But did it have to come with just 7:17 remaining in a 28-21 game?
The first or second quarters would’ve been way better for this report. I just didn’t understand the timing.
And neither did social media:
Amazon dropping Tyreek’s allegations mid-game… journalism or just killing the vibe for fans who tuned in for football?

Randomly coming from a break, Prime decided to have a sideline reporter talk about Tyreek Hill’s DV case that is being investigated 😳
Don’t know why we need to be talking about that right now, I understand it’s important, but lets keep that outside of the game.

Now is the time the broadcast decides to mention the Tyreek allegations? In a one score game late in the 4th quarter? That’s a bizarre choice.

Do better, Prime. Do better.
