Trump Admin Tricks Liberals Into Boycotting Disney

“Rock,” meet “hard place.”

Conservatives were outraged at late-night host Jimmy Kimmel for his commentary on Charlie Kirk’s alleged killer. ABC suspended his show indefinitely. Cue outrage from liberals, with some calling for boycotts of ABC and its parent company, Disney. (RELATED: Disney Becomes Latest Company To Scale Back DEI Initiatives During Trump Era)

Users aired their ire under the hashtags “#BoycottDisney” and “#BoycottABCNetwork” on X and Bluesky, some posting proof of cancellation for their Disney Plus subscription. Prominent Democrat-aligned accounts urged their followers to support the boycott. 

“Every major talent that works for ABC and Disney should refuse to show up for work until Jimmy Kimmel is reinstated,” writer Wajahat Ali wrote on X. “Marvel movies need to shutdown. Ditto the sitcoms. Collective boycott.”

Writer Brian Krassenstein encouraged his followers to “Hit them where it hurts: the $$$.” 

Kimmel’s Monday monologue included the remark, “We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them, and doing everything they can to score political points from it.” (RELATED: Ocasio-Cortez’s Old Remarks Come Back To Bite Her In Wake Of Kimmel Suspension)

Federal Communications Commission (FCC) chair Brendan Carr honed in on that comment, telling commentator Benny Johnson on Wednesday he was concerned by what “appears to be some of the sickest conduct possible.”

Carr emphasized his need to be cautious in his position but said Kimmel’s comments were not “isolated.” “In some quarters, there’s a very concerted effort to try to lie to the American people about the nature […] of one of the most significant, newsworthy public interest acts that we’ve seen in a long time,” he told Johnson.

President Donald Trump celebrated news of Kimmel’s suspension on Truth Social.

“Great News for America: The ratings challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED. Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done. Kimmel has ZERO talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that’s possible. That leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, on Fake News NBC. Their ratings are also horrible. Do it NBC!!!”

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m scared. Terrified, even. What if Disney doesn’t have enough cash on hand to pump out gender-expansive Star Wars miniseries? What if Disney can’t fund any more race-swapped live-action remakes?
